Our Business

Captivative Concrete is a subsidiary of Commonwealth Commercial Construction, a general contractor serving Richmond and its neighboring communities since 1994.   The company’s two principals, Tammy Townsend and Joseph Burke, recognized an opportunity to expand their Class A commercial interior construction business and segue into decorative concrete.  The use of decorative concrete enhances clients’ projects by reducing costs, improving sustainability and increasing the overall aesthetic value. Some of the company’s 100,000+ square foot projects involve clients such as Wachovia Bank, McGuire Woods and Goya Foods. 

Who We Are

Tammy Townsend:  President

Tammy has 22 years of experience in general contracting estimating, project management and administration.  She also has worked for drywall and acoustical ceiling subcontractors in administration.

Joseph Burke:  Vice President 

Joe has 34 years of experience in the construction business, including general contracting estimating, project superintending and administration.  In addition, he has more than 10 years of experience as a drywall and acoustical ceiling foreman and mechanic.
